The EOS R6 is the little sibling to the EOS R5, but it is no slouch itself. Here are some of its key specs: 20-megapixel sensor. In-body image stabilization of up to eight stops. Base ISO range of
Seriously. Think of it this way; a Canon Rebel, is easily capable of shooting beautiful sharp photos with “L” lenses, while an R3 will have quite a difficult time shooting equivalent photos through low end glass. If you can get yourself to buy used, mpb has an R6, like new, around $1800 and a used ef 24-70mm 2.8L for around $1200.
If you don't need 8K video or loads of megapixels, the Canon R6 is a much more sensible alternative to the R5. Our verdict: "The new EOS R6 is the best full-frame mirrorless Canon camera to date, and unless you really need 8K video, the camera that mid-range DSLR owners should buy if they're looking to switch to mirrorless."
PlotTwistIntensifies. I’m returning the R6. The R is better for MY needs. I’m a 10+ year photographer, but I’ve been working in cinematography recently. The R6 looked like the perfect camera for me on paper. My main complaints about the R was No IBIS and the shared mode/secondary dial making switching from photo to video slow.
The Canon EOS R7 surpasses the Canon EOS R6 Mark II in video capabilities, scoring 91/100 compared to the R6 Mark II’s score of 83/100. Both cameras share common specifications, including a maximum video resolution of 4K and dimensions of 3840 x 2160. Additionally, each camera possesses built-in time-lapse functionality.
However the R6 Mk2 has a very noticeable improvement over both of the other cameras. I also had to look at files from all three cameras using my Canon 70-200mm F/2.8 at ISO 100 on daylight photos. Pretty much the same results for noise and/or pixelization.
R7IaL. The Canon EOS R6 II and Sony Alpha 7 IV are similarly capable cameras with a few differentiators. Both are good values, and either is a great choice. Summary. As mentioned at the beginning of this review, the Canon EOS R6 Mark II is a high-performing, mid-priced camera body that delivers outstanding full-frame image quality at medium-high
Video. Canon EOS RP: 4K at 25fps, Full HD at up to 60fps Canon EOS R8: 4K at up to 60fps (oversampled from 6K), Full HD at up to 180fps Canon EOS R6 Mark II: 4K up to 60fps (oversampled from 6K), Full HD at up to 120fps. This is a tough category to call. The RP clearly loses this contest, as it’s limited to 4K at 25fps.
While these can't gather as much light as the full-frame sensors seen in cameras like the Canon EOS R6, Video quality is also good, with the benefit of uncropped 4K/60p video with 4:2:2 10-bit
Coming to you from Gary Gough, this great video review compares the Canon EOS R5 to the company's high-megapixel champion, the 5DS R. At 50.6 megapixels, the 5DS R actually offers a bit more
